About me

My name is Jennifer Emily Roach, I am currently a freelance makeup artist that lives in Ottawa, Ontario. I am an artist who is experienced with a multitude of makeup genres such as SFX, bridal, film/tv,photoshoots, kids facepainting etc. I have been doing makeup for over 10 years and enjoy everything having to do with makeup but my favorite part is definitely the reactions of my clients when looking in the mirror. There is nothing like seeing a bride feel beautiful or an actor get into character with the help of my applied skills, however, i must admit my favorite reaction is that of a child i have just facepainted since children are so honest, they seem to get the most pleasure derived from the look they choose. They get into character so deeply that it may last the whole day and perhaps even night I have heard so parents watch out for their pillows!

I decided to go full throttle into creating a business for myself which means I have immersed myself in all aspects including the creation and maintenance of this website. This allows me to keep my clients up to date with my availability for the year and see what projects I have coming up or what I have been involved with. My aim is to give publicity to myself and those i work with so to network with other artists in addition to give credit and appreciation where it is due so please check out my list of 'Go 2's to see the list of those I have personally worked with and who's work i really respect. I am currently in the works of creating a makeup menu to present to clients in order to bridge the gap between our creative visions and come to a predictable and cohesive look that they know I can and will achieve. A client will be able to browse through a book of my looks where we can choose one together that will best suit their needs or requests.

My goal is to challenge myself in all aspects that makeup has to offer and to collaborate with as many talented individuals as possible so I may garner enough experience to ideally reach my dream job of working for Saturday Night Live. With every face I am privy to touch, I know I am one step closer to my goal and am committed to give back as much as possible since a gift is meant to be shared as well as receive.
